Established in 2008, Yenepoya Institute of Technology was founded with a monumental aim: to foster academic excellence and proficiency in students, particularly within the rapidly expanding global sphere of Engineering Technology and Management. Since its inception, the Institute has made significant strides, earning recognition among Karnataka's Institutes of Technology for its high-caliber education and training facilitated by a dedicated faculty and top-notch infrastructure.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

The department of Mechanical Engineering has been recognized for excellence in academics and research. Being one of the largest departments in the institute, it is continuously striving to improve the quality of education, academics and industry oriented research as well as consultancy work with service to the society.

Academic course work and projects are designed to endow students with the ability to apply knowledge of science mathematics and engineering. With a solid grounding in the principles and practice of mechanical engineering, our students are ready to engage in ethical approaches to engineering with concern of society and the environment.

ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established at the Yenepoya Institute of Technology (formerly Dr. M.V. Shetty Institute of Technology) in the year 2008 with an approved intake of 60 students. The department runs undergraduate programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The department is recognized by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belgaum. It has a broad based UG curriculum, which offers a unique mix of electrical, electronics and computer related courses enabling the students to take-up a professional career / higher studies in any of these areas. The main focus of the department is to evolve as a Centre of learning and training in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and to contribute with innovations for the betterment of society. In order to cope up with the requirements of industries the department also has laboratories with latest technologies. The department is having highly experienced, motivated and dedicated faculty members.

COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering started in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 to offer BE degree in Computer Science and Engineering with the object of promoting specialized knowledge in the field of Computer Science and Computer Application. The Department has a comprehensive curriculum on topics related to all aspects of Computer Hardware and Software with an emphasis on practical learning. Faculty members and students are encouraged in all academic activities. At the same time, the department maintains absolute discipline and the progress made by the students are keenly monitored. 

ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2008. The Department has a fine blend of renowned as well as young and dynamic personalities as the faculty members in providing quality education. The syllabus for the courses are continuously updated and the laboratories are modernized to reflect the rapid changes in technology. The Department has strong Industry interaction and has been involved in development of state-of-art products for Industry. It has extensive fabrication, calibration and testing facilities for carrying out industry sponsored research and consultancy projects. The students of this branch are placed in Electrical & Electronics field as well as in software companies.

INFORMATION SCIENCE & ENGINEERING

The Department of Information Science and engineering was established at the Yenepoya Institute of Technology (formerly Dr. M.V. Shetty Institute of Technology) in the year 2008 with an approved intake of 60 students. The department runs undergraduate programme in Information Science and engineering to impart value-laden education for students in the traditional and contemporary areas of information technology.

The department is recognized by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belgaum. It has a broad based UG curriculum, which offers a unique mix of IT, computer networking and embedded system related courses enabling the students to take-up a professional career / higher studies in any of these areas. The main focus of the department is to evolve as a Centre of learning and training in the field of Information technology to contribute with innovations for the betterment of society. In order to cope up with the requirements of industries the department also has well-equipped laboratories with latest technologies. Department has well qualified, highly experienced and dedicated faculty members to guide the students in academics. 

CSE (IoT, CYBER SECURITY INCLUDING BLOCK CHAIN TECHNOLOGY)

Computer Science & Engineering (Internet of Things and Cyber security including Block chain Technology) undergraduate engineering course has been started by the institute from the academic year 2022-23 with the intake capacity of 60 seats. This programme familiarises students with the functional and operational aspects of IoT, Cyber Security and Blockchain Technology.
