Vivekananda College of Law, Bangalore: Empowering Citizens with Legal Knowledge Since 1983

Established in 1983 by the Janatha Education Society, Vivekananda College of Law (VCL) has been a dedicated institution imparting legal education in Bangalore. Recognizing the fundamental importance of legal awareness for every citizen ("Ignorance of law is no excuse"), VCL started with the three-year LL.B. course and introduced the five-year integrated LL.B. course in 1986, coinciding with its introduction by Bangalore University.

Our primary goal is to motivate individuals to understand and appreciate the significance of law in navigating their daily lives effectively. The legal profession, we believe, offers vast opportunities not only in resolving disputes through judicial processes but also in utilizing alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. In an increasingly interconnected global landscape, a robust legal education equips individuals to contribute to the nation's economy, provide essential legal counsel in the corporate sector, and compete effectively on international standards in this era of globalization and liberalization.

Vivekananda College of Law goes beyond traditional classroom lectures by actively exposing students to practical legal experiences through moot courts, legal aid camps, and legal literacy programs. The college boasts a well-stocked physical library, a modern e-library, and a dedicated moot court hall. Our competent faculty, comprising both full-time and visiting experts, are dedicated to preparing students for the competitive landscape of legal education.
