Mar Theophilus College, Thiruvananthapuram

Mar Theophilus Training College, a leading teacher training institute in Kerala, is located in Mar Ivanios Vidya Nagar. Founded through the vision of the late Archbishop Mar Ivanios and established by the late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios, the college is now guided by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis and co-patron Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Mar Iranius. Managed by the Syro-Malankara Major Archi-Eparchy of Trivandrum, the college honors the late Bishop Jacob Mar Theophilus of Thiruvalla and began in 1956 as part of Mar Ivanios College. It moved to its own campus and upgraded its facilities in 2001 to meet NCTE standards. 

Under the leadership of notable principals, including Prof. J. Y. Thampy Haris and Dr. K. Y. Benedict, the college has achieved excellence in infrastructure and academics. It offers a B.Ed. with six specializations and started its M.Ed. program in 2005. The college, re-accredited with an 'A' grade by NAAC in 2014, has recently been recognized as a Research Centre by the University of Kerala and is working towards introducing an M. Phil course. Celebrating its 60th anniversary, Mar Theophilus Training College remains dedicated to academic excellence, professional skill development, and character formation, guided by its motto, 'Dominus Mea Illuminatio' ("God is my Light").
