About College
Established in 1993 under the auspices of L.B.S. Centre for Science and Technology Thiruvananthapuram, an autonomous body of the Government of Kerala, L.B.S. College of Engineering initially offered B.Tech programs in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) with a total intake of 240 seats. The college operated from a temporary building until its permanent campus, spanning 52 acres of land provided by the Kerala Plantation Corporation at Povval, was completed.
In 2000, B.Tech in Information Technology with an intake of 60 seats and MCA with an intake of 35 seats were introduced. Subsequently, in 2008, B.Tech in Civil Engineering was added, and additional 60 seats each were allocated to Mechanical, Computer Science, and Electronics and Communication Engineering programs as part of an expansion initiative. Between 2013 and 2015, the college introduced four postgraduate programs and established research centers for Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering.
Located in Muliyar Panchayath, Kasaragod district—the northernmost district of Kerala—the campus offers a sprawling environment over its 52-acre expanse, approximately 12 kilometers from Kasaragod town. It enjoys proximity to Mangaluru Airport and Kasaragod railway station. Noteworthy tourist attractions nearby include Bekal Fort, Madhur temple, and Ananthapuri temple, adding cultural richness to the region.
