About College
Father Muller College of Nursing operates as part of the Father Muller Charitable Institutions, a Registered Society supported by the Catholic Diocese of Mangaluru. Initially established to serve the Christian Community, it is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Karnataka, Bengaluru, and holds recognition from the Indian Nursing Council.
The roots of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) trace back to 1880 when Fr Augustus Muller, a German Jesuit missionary, laid its foundation.
Recognizing the growing demand for skilled nursing personnel alongside the development of medical and surgical services, a School of Nursing was established in 1959.
In 1987, the College of Nursing was inaugurated, offering a Four Year B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course to align with the evolving landscape of Health and Nursing Sciences. Following in 1988, a two-year Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing Degree Course was introduced for Diploma holders in General Nursing and Midwifery, all under the auspices of Mangaluru University.
Addressing the need for advanced nursing education, a Post-Graduate degree program in nursing commenced in 1992, encompassing five specialties under Mangaluru University.
Celebrating a quarter-century of impactful service, Father Muller College of Nursing is renowned as an "Edifice of Enlightenment and Empathy." Notably, it achieved accreditation with an 'A' grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), marking a significant milestone as the first Nursing College affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, to earn such recognition.

B.Sc (Nursing)
1) Basic B.Sc Nursing
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination
- 50% marks in PCB ( Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
- 40% marks for reserved category in PCB
- Age – 17 years as on August 31 of the year of admission
- Admission based on merit of previous qualifying examination
- Admission of NRIs and foreign nationals is based on the qualifying marks in their core subjects
- Applications are available in the month of April- May
- Selection in the month of June –July
- Admission in the month of September

- Age Limit is 48 years on August 31 st of the year of Admission
- Admission is under Merit basis in the qualifying examination
- Admission based on merit of previous qualifying examination
- Applications are available in the Month of April- May
- Selection in the month of June –July
- Admission – September

- Professional experience certificate for ONE COMPLETE YEAR after obtaining B.Sc / PBBSc Nursing degree registration
