About College

Calicut University initiated its BSc Nursing program under a self-financing scheme with an annual intake of 50 students in January 1996. Due to inadequate physical facilities, the course faced challenges in being effectively conducted. However, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Calicut University and the Kerala Co-operative Hospital Federation, the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council inspected the college and granted recognition to the BSc Nursing course under the auspices of the Kerala Co-operative Hospital Federation, Thalassery. Since then, our college has developed into one of the premier nursing institutions in Kerala. In 2009, we introduced MSc Nursing admissions through an entrance examination.

In 2005, the college came under the jurisdiction of Kannur University, and since then we have had three batches of students enrolled under this university. We commenced the MSc Nursing program in the academic year 2009-2010, and currently, we have one batch of MSc Nursing students under Kannur University.

Starting from the academic year 2010-2011, the college fell under the jurisdiction of the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). Our institution is now equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, a well-stocked library featuring 3,500 books and 19 journal publications, and a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members across various specialties. In addition to our nursing faculty, we also engage specialist doctors, psychologists, dieticians, sociologists, community health staff, and computer experts to enhance the educational experience for our students.

Students receive practical training at esteemed institutions including Co-operative Hospital, General Hospital, Malabar Cancer Center, Kodiyeri, Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Science, Kuthiravattam, Mithranikethan, Trivandrum, and Sree Chithra Tirunal Institute, Trivandrum.
