Established in 1979 with the noble objective of providing quality technical education and serving society, Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) has achieved an enviable level of excellence. Supported by the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, dedicated staff, and motivated students, BIT fosters an environment that inspires a deep thirst for knowledge and all-round development.

Pioneering Technical Education:

BIT has consistently been at the forefront of modern technology, holding the distinction of being the
first college in Karnataka to introduce a full-fledged degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Over the years, BIT has proactively visualized future growth areas and incorporated a diverse range of programs.

Comprehensive Academic Offerings:

Currently, BIT offers:

• 13 Undergraduate Programs (BE)
• 6 Postgraduate Programs (ME/M.Tech/MCA/MBA)
• 13 Research and Development Centers

All programs are affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. BIT is also recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under sections 2f and 12b of the UGC Act 1956. The institute is accredited by NBA (for 9 UG Programs and MCA) and ranked by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in the Band: 251-300.

Experienced and Dedicated Faculty:

BIT takes pride in its 262 qualified teaching faculty members, including 100 with Ph.D. degrees and 56 pursuing their doctorates. A remarkable sixty percent of our faculty have dedicated over twenty years of service to BIT, demonstrating their commitment to the institution and its students. The institute is also supported by a team of 277 efficient and committed supporting staff.
