Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences (BIDS): A Center for Dental Research and Education Since 1991

Established in 1991 under the dynamic leadership of Mr. K Subba Rao, Chairman of VEF, the Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences (BIDS) has experienced significant growth and established itself as a prominent dental institution. A dedicated Institutional Research Committee has been formed at BIDS to actively promote research and publications among both students and faculty members. This committee plays a crucial role in conducting rigorous scientific reviews of all research proposals put forth by the faculty. The scope of research work within the institution encompasses the comprehensive monitoring of research endeavors and allied academic disciplines within dentistry.

A significant milestone in the institution's history was November 8th, 1995, a red-letter day marking the graduation of the first batch of students and, more importantly, the official recognition granted by the premier Dental Council of India.

Furthering its commitment to advanced dental education, BIDS witnessed the graduation of its first cohort of Post-graduate students in 2002, specializing in the following six key dental disciplines:
