The Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, named in honor of the esteemed late Sri. B. Vaikunta Baliga, former Law Minister of the Government of Mysore, was previously known as Udupi Law College. It operates under the aegis of the Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation, established in 1957 with a firm commitment to providing high-quality legal education in rural areas, transcending boundaries to establish itself as a leading institution in legal education. Its appeal to students from both India and abroad is a testament to the wisdom and foresight of its revered founder, the late Dr. T.M.A. Pai, to whom we owe eternal gratitude.
Since its inception, the college has rapidly evolved into a center for academic and cultural endeavors. Over its illustrious journey, it has celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1982-83 and Golden Jubilee in 2006-2007. Now, it strides confidently towards its Diamond Jubilee, buoyed by the foundation of its illustrious history. It has distinguished itself by offering invaluable contributions to legal education, with its alumni occupying esteemed positions in the judiciary, legal profession, government, and corporate sectors.
