About College
Established in 1960 in Mangalore by the Society of Daughters of the Heart of Mary, an International Catholic Religious Society founded in France during the French Revolution in 1790, the School of Social Work operates under the auspices of the Institute of Social Service Mangalore in Karnataka State. It stands as the pioneering Post Graduate Centre for Social Work Education in Karnataka and holds the status of a ‘Minority’ Institution. Embracing the ethos of "Small is Beautiful," it occupies a serene six-acre campus, which also houses various service centers including a Kindergarten, Family Service Agency, Family Counselling Centre, and CHILDLINE.
Education within this institution is deeply influenced by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, drawing inspiration from the gospel to uphold values of respect, freedom, and equality. Its mission is to contribute to the realization of a compassionate, just, and harmonious society.

The Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W) degree program fosters students' empathetic engagement in activities centered on social development.
