About College
Established in 2003-2004, Masood Educational & Charitable Trust ® (MECT) is currently offering General Nursing and Midwifery, Basic B.Sc. Nursing, P.B.B.Sc., and M.Sc. Nursing courses. Authorized by the Government of Karnataka in 2003, the College and School of Nursing admit 60 students per course. These programs hold recognition from the Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka Nursing Council.
Located in Mangalore, a bustling port city in Karnataka, the institute commenced its nursing programs with the aim of producing clinically proficient nurses capable of serving individuals, groups, communities, nations, and beyond.

Course Details
B.Sc (Nursing)
1) Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
- Hold a diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (G.N.M.).
- Be a registered nurse
- Have passed pre university examination in arts/science/commerce conducted by Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or its equivalent recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
- Be medically fit
2) B.Sc. Nursing(Basic)
- The candidate should have passed in the Pre-university examination / PDC / 10+2 or any other equivalent examination as recognized by RGUHS, Bangalore with a aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for general candidates. The minimum marks to be secured by SC, ST and other backward categories is 40% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English taken together.
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
- Candidate should be medically fit.
M.Sc (Nursing)
- Branch - I - Medical Surgical Nursing
- Branch - II - Community Health Nursing
- Branch - III - Paediatric Nursing
- Branch - IV - Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing
- Branch - V - Psychiatric Nursing
Eligibility
- The candidate should have passed B.Sc. Nursing (Basic) or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing or Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataks (R.G.U.H.S.) or any other university accepted as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.
- Minimum of one year of experience after obtaining B.Sc. Nursing (Basic), in a Hospital or in a Nursing Educational Institution or Community Health Setting. For candidate with Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing Degree no such experience is needed after graduation.
- Registered in State Nursing Council as a registered Nurse and registered Midwife.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)
- The candidate should have passed in the Pre-university examination / PDC / 10+2 or any other equivalent examination as recognized by RGUHS, Bengaluru with aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English for general candidates. The minimum marks to be secured by SC, ST and other backward categories is 40% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination.
