About College
Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College stands as a testament to the visionary efforts of the Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), established by Rev. Fr. Augustus Muller, a German Jesuit missionary. Fr. Muller, hailing from a lineage connected to Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of Homoeopathy, naturally embraced and propagated this healing art in Mangalore and beyond.
Originating as a modest dispensary named the Homoeopathic Poor Dispensary atop Kankanady Hill in 1880, the FMCI has burgeoned into a distinguished medical institution. Fr. Muller, the institution's pioneer, not only became India's first Repertorian but also authored numerous influential Homoeopathic texts.
In 1980, commemorating a century of service, FMCI resolved to establish a Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Kankanady. This vision materialized in 1985, with the college swiftly evolving into a premier center for Homoeopathic Medical Education. Affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and recognized by the Central Council of Homoeopathy, New Delhi, it maintains the highest standards of education.
In 2006, the college relocated to a sprawling 36.52-acre campus in Deralakatte, adorned with lush greenery. This new setting houses the Homoeopathic Hospital, hostels, a chapel, modern recreational facilities, a gymnasium, and a botanical garden.
The institution's academic prowess expanded with the introduction of postgraduate courses in 1998, initially offering three fundamental subjects and later incorporating four specialized disciplines in 2007, thereby enriching the spectrum of medical education offered.
